Stephanie Tripp was born in Juneau, Alaska, and is Tlingit Native from the Deisheetaan Clan. She is currently enrolled in the University of Alaska studying for two degrees in English and Alaska Native Studies. Stephanie hopes to one day become a teacher in sharing her love for the Native culture, and is practicing to be fluent in the Tlingit language as a part of her commitment to her past. Her artistic talents blossomed in traditional beadwork while learning from a Tlingit elder, and she enjoys the “practice of patience” involved while working with small elements. Stephanie’s designs are contemporary in nature, yet authentic in the elements she uses. She hopes this creates a bridge for both young and old to adorn her handcrafted jewelry.
