As a Native American symbol of creation, the Thunderbird marks the separation between the heavens and the earth. In Northwestern tribes, the Thunderbird is known as the dominating force of all natural activity. Deafening cracks of thunder are produced as it flaps its mighty wings, and lightening jets out of the eyes when angered. It is believed connecting to the mighty spirit of the Thunderbird will bolster the warrior’s heart and insure victory.
